Parkerizing the slide
Anyone tried just parkerizing their slide and just leaving it like that with out painting it over?I've parkerized my 1911 before and it turned out very good.

I parkerized my slide, zinc oxide it looked pretty nice but I painted it over.

the olive drab green slide would look nice with the black polymer frame on the XD.

Is it a good enough finish? It's better than nothing, if keep clean, and well oiled it will do OK. I would think about a bake on finish Moly Resin or something simular. It's much tougher than the non bake on paints.
