What will happen ?

You will be sent to your room without supper.

Also your gun has exposed "in-the-white" steel. That is how rust gets started. So use a GOOD protectant for this. <- You were very correct to ask about such things. Good for you.

I use Proix as you cannot misuse it in any way. <- I am also the NM distributor for this product.

Other people use other things. <- Almost everyone thinks wahtever they are using is good enough. Sometimes they are right.

You should use at least something. <- But that you already guessed as you were perceptive enough to ask.

Yep, I'd have to say you are being picky. If a grain of salt sized defect is troubling you, you are really going to freak when the wear marks start. And never put it in a holster, either. And just imagine what those bullets are doing to the inside of your barrel!

Don't worry about it. Put some oil on it and shoot it. Enjoy your gun, there are other things to worry about.

hmmm

well I live in illinois so I won't have to worry about holster wear maybe that's why I'm so anal but do you think it would be ok to black in that mark with a sharpie .so I can be done with it.

The sharpie may cover up this WELL, or it may not.

You still are exposed to rust either way.

You can try to touch it up with some Perma blue.

Anything other than a permanant covering will not solve the problem. Permanent marker will hide it for a while, but will eventually rub off or be taken off by oil/solvent.

As dhindo said, some touch up blue might help.

That isn't normal wear and tear IMO.
What to do? It's called "Lifetime Warranty"

Why let it bother you everytime you have to look at what you got for your hard earned money or put make-up on it like a prom queen covering up a nasty zit on prom night.

Call SA and make them replace it.

Are you sure it's not metal spec from your shooting? To me, it sounds like it. I was able to remove some of these from my gun (they always appear after range session). Some are caked on but I don't really care, eventually they will come off in one of my cleaning session.

edit -
Some are silver and some are gold for me.
