Dura coat finishing
I am new to this forum. I am going to buy a xd-40 but I'm some what concerned of the rust problems xd's are having. Has anyone got a dura coat finish on a xd? If so, where and how much? While you're at it, let me know how you like you xd-40. Thanks!

If you buy a brand new XD40 it will not rust.

if you wanna got he duracoat route its really easy. i did my xd 40 in my kitchen

I believe all the new ones have melonite finish. Check the fired case envelope for the date. If its dated April 2006 or newer it has the melonite finish. Shouldn't have any problems with normal care and cleaning. None of mine (even the pre-melonite) have had any rust.
