i was looking at the SC .40 for personal protection, but i want the cost of the 9mm ammo, what i was wondering is can you buy a .40 and then buy a 9mm barrel and magazine and make it work?

All you actualy need is a new barrel. .40 mags can hold 9mm and 9mm mags can hold .40. (not nesssarily carry reliable.)

You need a conversion barrel which is not offered yet. the 9mm barrel will simply not work in the 40... So thats a no go for a sc
