I've mentioned this b4
Pro Honda HP Chain Aerosol Chain Lube.
Contains Teflon Fast Drying Leaves thin protective film on metal surfaces Repels Dirt and Water Will not stain other metal or plastic surfaces Will not degrade plastics and fiberglass Will not degrade rubber gasket materials "Unlike traditional 'sticky' lubes this lube evaporates on contact and leaves a flexible film that resists water and dirt. This film provides long term protection against rust." It worked well on my motorcycle chain and I rode in all weather. Wet and cold. Roads coated with potasium based anti ice crap. It worked real well on my motorcycle so I started experimenting on my all metal pistols. I now use it on my XD and I'm watching it carefully. Spray, Spray. Wipe. Internal and External parts. Not ignoring brushing and usual solvents. This has worked for me for about 6 six years on my all metal guns. I've used it since I disposed of a few motorcycles years back. I like the idea of teflon and water resistance in the formula. The Makarov Forum told me I was guilty of heresy for using this stuff but ... it works. Like the Makarov wasn't meant to use TU Tank Tread Grease to lube it. Just kidding, I think. It does leave a slight coating and I have to brush out slide serrations on occasion or it looks like a very light clear wax coating. It is really good. I sometimes have to store my guns up to a year inbetween shooting sessions (Merchant Marine life) either in the closet, safe, or in lock box in my stored Jeep Wrangler near the ocean. My Jeep's undercarage has rusted more than my guns. I had to undercoat my Jeep a few years back because of the harsh beach side / sea air enviorment. Flitz also has a metal wax it sells to protect firearms. I used it for years before using this. Spray on and wipe off is much easier than waxing a gun like a car and I'm getting lazy. "I hates rust!" |
