moly coat
I had my xd coated with a moly type coat. it works great in fact my wife droped my xd on cement and it didnt even do any thing to it. easy to clean. I still put Blue Wonder Armadillo on it ,that way if it gets wet the water just runs off and also for added protection.

I did mine in grey/green moly over a year ago and it still looking good. I've droped it once on concrete, and once at the range on rocks. Only wear I have is from the kydex holster but it's not very noticable.

I really cant say anything about dura kote, I have never had anything done that way only in moly. I do know that moly is not as thick when it is put on and then baked.

Same here I've only done the moly. I spray it on with an air brush then bake for 1 hour at 300 deg.
