Did you check your mag lips? are they ok? Does it do it with every mag you own?

you may have to tweak the mag lips.

The mags seem fine and functioned perfectly prior to the refinishing. I only had two mags with me at the time and there was no difference with function.

A little late in that game, but you DID lube the slide, right?

Sigh... There it is again. Always these misconceptions about Melonite.
Yes, you CAN have it done in the States. Yes, you CAN have it done now, even on an old gun.
Look for a company called Burlington Engineering. Hell, do a search on this board, it's only been brought up a million times.

Talking

FYI: The XD-40 functions perfectly now. I just needed to put a few hundred rounds through to "wear off" the "high spots".

MattJohnston87: If you read the entire post you will see that I reference this rust with my experience. I own a lot of other brands of handguns and only the XD-40 suffered the rust issue. My "sub-par" comment may have been mis-used in reference to the barrel. What I should have said, was that the XD is a "sub-par" gun IMHO. Don't get me wrong...I still like the XD's. I just do not believe they are made with the same quality as say, HK, Sig, Glock, S&W, Ruger, CZ, Taurus, Beretta, Bersa, etc.

Don't feel too bad about it.

Someone at SA made a minor mistake when selecting the finish, and now they are paying for it.

And hey, new slide!
