When you guys speak of rusting are you refering to the bi-tone finishes or just standard black finish. reason i ask is to see if one finish is prone to rusting vs the other.

The Bi-Tone is stainless steel. It can corrode but only in the most extreme circumstances such as exposure to salt air near a sea shore. In any more normal environment rust is not a worry.

If you have the regular finish, try some Boeshield T-9 spray on it. This stuff was invented by Boeing to keep planes from rusting. I use it on my cast iron woodworking tools as well as my Tactical. It works great and lasts for months. My tools are housed in my garage in hot, humid Florida. One treatment lasts about 9 months and I experience no rust. If left untreated, the cast iron surfaces rust in a matter of days.

You can get it from a number of online sources for under $15 a can. One can would last at least a couple of years.

Thanks for the great info!!!, well i guess rust shouldn't be a problem since i live in the great lakes region and never seen salt water up close and personal. that and the fact that i do own the bi-tone.
