The 9mm, and .40's have a good, though weaker finish. The XD-45ACP has a tougher tennifer finish like the Glock. I own an XD-40SC, and an XD-45acp. While I can tell the difference in the finish, I have had absolutely no problems. I clean my firearms and apply a light coat of gun oil to protect any steel surfaces after each shooting. I have even used the XD-40 in IDPA in a Fobus kydex holster with no probs. The XD-45's finish would probably be better for someone who is lax on cleaning and care.

Rusty Glocks...
Not to be a killjoy, but I've seen the Tennifer on Glocks rust in extreme cases of sweating. I had a detective who carried a Glock 19 in a SOB holster come to me about that. I called Glock, who told me that in extreme cases the tanning process, combined with sweat could make the Glock rust if not cleaned off each day. This one, I duracoted and had no more problems. I wish I'd tried the wax on it first to see if that would have lengthened the times between rustings.... Shoot safe..--Glimmer31
