Hard chrome is not bright, it looks like a matte alluminium. Check out my post in the Photo section, "Group portrait", the 1911 by the pistolgrip of the AR is hard chromed by Tripp.

Tripp all the way...Good turn around.. He did worked on 3 of my pistols and well as plated 5 guns...No worries.
