opened my case to find this!!!! NOT TOO HAPPY!

I was going to go shooting today, and opened the case to my XDm 9mm, only to find this "stuff" all over the stainless part of my reciever. It will not wipe off with my finger but I am afraid to use anything else on it. I don't know what to do PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stainless part of receiver? I don't get. Frame insert? Barrel? Slide?

You might need a certain number of posts to link a pic? Where was the image link pointing to? Hopefully not your C-drive! You need to load up to Photobucket or similar hosting website.

Try some CLP or equivalent cleaner and see if will remove the foreign substance.

Not sure what that is. Are you storing it in the factory case? Where are you keeping the case? How long has it been in the case?
