Some fine steel wool and some oil will fix you right up. NEVER store a firearm in it's original gun case unless you have silica gel packets and or/the gun is in a silicone sock with a nice coat of CLP all over the gun. The CLP is a godsend for preventing rust.

If your keeping it in the case it came in stop that foam holds moisture and causes rust on probably any gun.

Just wondering.............
If they are so prone to rusting in the "factory case with foam", then why do they come from the factory that way, and get stored at a gun shop (or other) that way? I'm sure that every one of those little pistols aren't all assembled and shipped and sold in less than a week....so why aren't they ALL rusted when we get them?

Well My XDm .40 Looks Exactly like that and its stored in a safe. Odd thing is 7 other stainless Firearms and a bunch of blued in there as well. Only the XDm rusts like that. I Had to SOAK a cloth in Remoil and wrap it in that to keep the rust down.

I got some glintz yesterday and it worked great! Ended up cleaning the whole gun and wiping it down with oil. Also got a pouch case and silica bags to go inside the case. Thanks guys! Woody
