Try this on your finish!!!!

I am one of the unlucky that had surface rust problems. A couple of factors attributed to this. The biggest being I live and work w/ in a mile of saltwater in humid Florida. Another being I dont like to keep my carry gun soaked in oil, so I looked for other alternatives. I got one that works and is cheap!
I have used New Finish in the orange bottle from Discount Auto, Walmart, ect., for a few years on my truck and boat. I am happy to say for the last few months or so, I have used it on my XD w/ great results. Havent oiled regularly, and no rust. I put 2 coats and have left it alone since.
I you have surface rust problems, try it. If it doesnt work for you, your out $5, and you can use it on your car.

Thats it. Dont know about a year though. I use it on my boat and truck, and it lasts longer than anything else I tried.

Just curious, if this is the stuff i'm thinking of then it's a lot like armadillo. When anyone puts either this new finish or armadillo on their gun do you coat the entire slide inside and out?

I can't speak for the other stuff, but yes, apply Armadillo to the outside of the slide for corrosion protection and inside on the slide rail as a dry lube.

If you don't like it, send it to a reloader! Lots of us use NuFinish for case cleaning!

I have used NuFinish on my autos for years and I think it is great stuff. I used it on a Taurus revolver and had great results, sweat will just bead up on it and you just wipe it down with a gun rag. I applied it according to how much I carried the firearm, you can never use it to often but you really don't have to. You just rub it on let it dry to a haze and simply wipe it off no buffing necessary.
