Well depending on the impurities in the stainless steel (iron), it can still rust. The steel used in the XD's slide isnt the most pure. Its why the gun costs $500 instead of $700 or higher like SiGs.

I'm sure making a golf club is much easier than making a gun's slide. So the club maker can get better steel and still remain competative. Also, clubs need to me more weather resistant, than a gun designed for a consumer market, and not a military one. From what I understand, to be rated "military Grade" the gun's resistance to the elements must be much higher(among other qualities).

If I'm spending 500 on a gun, i am still going to be really pissed that it rusts easily, infact, ya i am pissed because if i do not wipe off my XD right after i touch it and i put it away for the night, it will have rust. now my steyr m-9 that i got for 300 bucks off the used shelf at the gunstore. I think i could leave that in my fishtank for a week with no problems, I like my XD but i think that this rust business is bull****, i shouldnt have to worry about it. I really wish i just saved up a couple hundred more and got the Sig
