I decided to try and remove the rust of the side of my xd. I got out a sponge with one side being that ruff green scrubbing material. I soaked it with hoppes no.9 and lightly brushed the rust off. Mistake! now It looks like i screwed up the finish, There is a "scuff mark" i guess you would call it. How can I go about getting rid of it?

put gun oil on a soft cloth and try buffing it out
