Did S.A. /HS ge the rust thing fixed ?

I bought my XD-9 Service new in 2007 and have been purposely wearing it against my skin in a holster while I mow the grass , work on my engines , and anything where I may get hot and sweat . So far there has been NO RUST
I just treat it like normal and no extra steps to prevent rust and so far it has been as good as my Glocks .
Just wondering how you guy's luck has been . I come to this forum a bunch but hardly go over here to the Rusty Tales section .
thanks for any responses . Also , man i dont know about you guys ,but xd-9 service mags have went up to damn near $30 here in Tennessee
I have 3 and that should do me , I dont want to hoard them like others .

I have a pre-Melonite 2006 XD-9 Service that I've worn against my skin many times and I don't have any rust issues. It has close to 10,000 rounds through it, so there is plenty of worn areas where the black is all gone.

No rust.

That is cool!
Sorry , but I dont know , are the XD's made in Croatia , I mean all the parts and treated metal and all ?
I know they say "made in Croatia" , but are they completely made there and shipped here to be sold ? Or are they just made there and put togather here ? And one last question , Does Croatia stamp the S.A. symbol on them or what ?

On the coating issue, there has been people with continued rust issues in states where humidity is high. SA has been looking to change to Cerakote to solve this issue, but I don't think they have yet. Cerakote has solved many issues and I have had Cerakote put on three of my guns and not one problem.

Is that another protective finish or a metal treatment like Melonite and Tenifer?
