Water Displacment and Corrosion Test

Ezeox defintaly came in first with salt water lasting about 5secs on it. FP10 Second, and weapon shield/gun butter in third.

Worst were Hoppes 9 formed some carmel salt looking layer, MPro 7 same and slip 2000

Start, notice Eezox
Order goes:
Top Row: CLP, FP10, Slip 2000, Mpro 7, Hoppes 9
Second Row: Weapon Shield, Rem Oil, Eezox, Gun Butter, Generic 3in1
Bottom Row: WD40, Motor Oil, Gunbutter Grease, Lithigrease (steel shield product), and Otis Ultra Bore

2hrs in

4hrs in pretty much everything was a dry soild by this time

Great test, thanks!

The FP10 failed miserably, it looks like, same with the gun butter... haven't used that, is it supposed to be red?

Yea gunbutter is red, but FP10 did good

The FP10 piece is a solid gold color, while the others are silver with gold spots on the corroded portions. Am I reading this wrong? If the whole piece turns a different color, that looks to me like a failure...

cool

it looks to me like ezeox and mobil1 did the best or am i seeing wrong. looks like i may switch to some cheap (comparatively) mobil1 for lube.

Didn't really displace the water which is what I would want to use on something if i knew it was going to get wet. But as far as corrosion you would be fine with any grease or oil.


Still need to get to my real tortue test though heat + grease + salt water
