XDm rust

Are the XDms likely to rust in my lifetime? If so what parts would be more prone to it?

Would Hoppes #9 Solvent be the best thing to use to wipe the outside with? It says on the bottle it cleans and prevents rust.. true?

I'd say technically, given the right conditions and environment, it is possible. The older XDs had a different finish than the newer ones do. All of XDms will have the new coat and as far as I've heard, this newer finish hasn't had the rust problems the older finish did.

I clean with Hoppes, but then I dry it. As a 'final coat', I use a silicone clothe to rub it down real well and help keep the moisture off.
