Sorry about your gun but that is disturbing to see!

I think it is from condensation. The gun gets cold at night, and the interior of the vehicle warms up quick in the morning, causing the condensation. I'd be willing to bet

I think that also but now the question is should I send it back to SA to have them look at it considering its on the tigger and grip safety or just do a good cleaning and get some EEzox for it?

I would clean it myself, but it could need a complete disassembly if the rust is internal, which it might be by the looks of the trigger. Depends on how comfortable you are with that. I guess it couldn't hurt to send it to SA, besides not having a gun if you don't own another one.

If you decide to take it apart dkendall,
This might help you.
Springfield Armory XD and HS2000.com
Just a few small punches will get it apart.
It is pretty easy to disassemble.
The grip saftey is a little tricky to get back in.
The mag release is a ***** but maybe you won't need to take it apart.
There are also several good videos on the forum if you search for them.
Also take your mags apart and clean them out too.
Maybe you could see about the legality of keeping the gun in a lock box or small safe in the house.
GunVault - Gun Safes for Home or Office - Home
Pistol Safes, Gun Cases, Fingerprint Safes, Flashlights, Auto Safety
Amazon.com: Secure-ItŪ Handgun Storage Safe: Sports & Outdoors

As others said keep it oiled if you must keep it in the car.

Welcome to the forum..
