You know, folks seem to forget that 1: R's control the house, and that 2: we have, collectively, a very short memory. If this gets pushed back because of the fiscal cliff, debt ceiling, yadda, yadda...not so much hysteria over it anymore, nothing gets done.
If it does come down, it'll likely be like the '94 AWB--anything over ten rounds prohibited, which means everything that's currently out there is gonna get really f***ing expensive. Expect standard capacity magazines (not 10rd neutered capacity) to quadruple in price.
And anyway, the world's gonna end tomorrow, so...we've got that going for us.

I imagine what will happen is that the AWB will be similar to last time, but this time around they will ban the sale or transfer of those items. Meaning, if you have them fine, but the transfer or sale of them will be prohibited.

Can anybody give a quick rundown of the 94 AWB? I was 11 at the time and have no idea what it covered.

I doubt assault rifles will be banned as a whole. The CA compliant rifles will probably be the new standard for assault rifles throughout the US though.

In all likely hood it's going to be a carbon copy of the 1994 AWB. No mags over 10 rounds, no "assauly weapons" (ARs, AKs, etc.) No bay one lugs, no collapsble or folding stocks, no flash suppressors, etc. existing weapons will be grandfathered. Pistols will not be banned just limited in capacity (hail the 1911). They will not baning hunting rifles, shotguns, etc. But after the last mass violence incident there is growing support in both parties for another AWB. It will not solve anything or reduce crime but it will make everyone fee better.
Not to be an a$$ but why couldnt that kid have made a bomb instead of used an AR? Then they could attack awl-mart for selling household chemicals. This incident was just what the anti gunners needed to put the agenda over the top.
Oh well I have an AR, and plenty of mags. I'm not stressing. I love the 1911 so I can always fall back onto one of those. All of my most carried pistols have less than 10 rd capacity anyway so its fine.

In a worst case scenario, we will only be allowed to carry 6-shooter revolvers. Here is something I found online and I would encourage you all to take part in it in order to protect our rights. Also, if there is a magazine capacity limit, what do you think it will be? 10 rounds?

yeah, but consent of the governed only goes as far as voting for our elected officials. They have their own agendas when they get into office which are often not exactly what they tell us they are about.
On top of that there has been talk of use of executive power to pass congress if need be. Face it a lot of the country doesn't see things the way that we do. Hunters, shooters, outdoorsmen are becoming a minority. The largest population centers are in anti gun areas they are the ones who let this guy back into office. SO in his and lost of peoples minds that means that america is ok with his agenda.
Voting speaks loudly, since he has been re-elected he believes he has the will of the people. Simple as that.
