It's my opinion, you don't have to agree or like it, just show me what you and your fellow teachers have done to change/correct the problems and have help fix the union/government control of the education system.

We need more armed police in the schools but that can be a heavy burden on the taxpayers. National Guard troops get paid anyways...why not have at least two at each school, that cannot afford aditional security. Many of these guys have a keen eye for potential threats and certianly can stop a bad guy with a gun.

I signed it but with this in mind, not every teacher has to be armed with a gun. This is my way of thinking on the subject. All teachers and facility should have a meeting, those who wish to arm their selves should be put though a training course similar to police, those who do not should be put in class rooms besides ones that are armed and be armed with non lethal protection of some sort weather it be a stun gun or mace. Regardless I think our teachers of america should have to be included in some type of training for situations like this. I would feel better knowing my children have some sort of protection from happenings like this.

edit: also the ones carrying need to have a mental assessment included in their training.

A gun in every classroom is the dumbest idea. 1 or 2 armed security guards is more then enough to deter and/or stop possible violence.

As a teacher, I think if a teacher is armed, it MUST be on their person. NOT in a drawer or in their purse. You would be shocked at how some teacher just leave their purses sitting on their desk.

i agree it should be a concealed carry with proper training.
