XDs Xtreme Grips help please
I've had these on for about a week or so now, and as usual, its a major improvement over stock. I was especially happy to see the backstrap piece was notched to make it easier to apply without bubbles.
But with that V cut in to the back strap, I noticed it's starting to peel and bubble now at that area. I installed the grips by cleaning the frame with degreaser, then applying the grips, followed by a tight silicone tape wrap and heat applied, then left to cool before unwrapping.
This method worked fine on my XDsc grip tape, and appeared to work fine on the XDs tape, but I'm wondering if that V cut in to the grips and the design of the stock grips was such a good idea? Anyone have any suggestion on what I can do before there's no adhesive left to keep the bubbles and peeling down?

your mistake was using a degreaser.

Good to know on the alcohol - my grips for the XDm have shipped and I'll be installing them soon. I did a couple of searches on here but didn't come up with tips on prepping the gun before install. Now I know.

Also seem good results if heat, smooth and cool a few times after the grips are installed. Hair dryer works great

Yes on the heat, using a hairdryer during application helps forming around corners
