Comparing Trigger Kits

This is a discussion on Comparing Trigger Kits within the Powder River Precision forums, part of the Forum Sponsors & Commerce category; I think saying something like "I got the ultimate match trigger kit -- it's definitely worth the extra cash" is the point of this thread ...

I think saying something like "I got the ultimate match trigger kit -- it's definitely worth the extra cash" is the point of this thread and ultimately an irrelevant statement.

FWIW I also have the ultimate match trigger, and I love it... but is it worth the extra over the others? Wouldn't know because I didn't have the others installed prior to this one. Definitely would love to see a side-by-side comparison.

Would be awesome to find these guys at a gun show with each trigger installed in a different gun so we could test trigger pulls side-by-side.

I'm looking to get a kit too, but still unsure which one I want. It will be for c/c but target shooting as well.

OK here is the deal. We never want a kit to install below 3.0 lbs by its self. That is why the kit with the sear will not have the striker safety spring. (the sum of the parts would/could equal -3lb trigger pull)

YOU loose about 5% of over travel reduction by going with a drop in trigger kit. This assumes that the Ult Mt Kit was fit perfectly. Depending on how the kits are installed/fit the difference may not be noticeable.

I'm also looking into the diff between these companies (PRP vs Canyon Creek), as I have 3 XDm's to do.

Custom work between two companies has always just yielded excellent results for everyone. I don't recall any threads of people having either side-by-side to say for sure, everyone just says they love their triggers from either company. (Don't forget Springer Precision also - same reputation as the other two).

If you do try different kits, or have work done by different shops, I definitely am interested in the results, as I'm sure many others would be.

I just might try using the 3 different companies for the work.
I'll post up if I do.
