It looks real to me.
Looks like it got hit with a shotgun blast, smaller shot usually doesn't penetrate road signs. Don't ask me how I know.

I think the sign is real, If any doubters want to make a trip to west Texas I can show you stop signs, railroad crossing, speed limit and any other signs peppered like that.

I'm thinking real. shotgun blast at a distance would make lead splatter and not completely penetrate. I make new ones and I'm going to do some field testing. going out in a couple weeks.will try 22's, 40s&w, and maybe a shotgun blast or two
