I would shoot them. No different than them using some other weapon.

I would draw down on someone w/ a stun gun (and shoot if necessary). If they're willing to stun me, then they're willing to relieve me of my carry weapon....

YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

Lots of results for taze me, tase me. lol

To the OP, if someone comes at me with a weapon, they will get a weapon in response. If you have a finger on the trigger and get tazed, I imagine the gun will fire. Best to use it under your own power to prevent a ND/AD

Stun gun being lethal or not, I'd be worried about what they'd do to me after I was down. Threat of violence is threat of violence, I wouldn't pause to think "are they going to use the stun gun in a non-lethal way?'

in the CPL class that i took here in michigan, we were tought that the imment threat of danger is legal grounds to defend yourself and those around you.

We were specifically told that you dont even need to see a weapon... just simulating a weapon (finger inside a coat pocket to look like a gun barrel, moving to act like you're gonig to draw from a shoulder holster, etc) is grounds to defend yourself with lethal force. (obivously i'm simplifying the conversation, but thats the gist of it)

I would consider a taser/stun gun to be a weapon and therefore an imment threat of danger, thus i would not hesitate to draw and shoot.

Just my $0.02 USD

its not the taser thats dangerous its him getting my gun.
the cop at my cc class said if your armed and they have a taser its the same as them having a gun since they could get yours after they taze you

In most states lethality is not the threshold for justified use of deadly force. Serious bodily injury is more likely to be the threshold. You can easily argue that the use of the stun gun put you at great risk of serious bodily injury and even death since you no longer have the capacity to flee or fight. The BG's hostile intent is shown by the fact that he is assaulting you with the stun gun.

I think it is a good shoot in most places. Of course, know your state's laws thoroughly and make your own call. It is your butt on the line.

"officer I thought it was a real gun"

or "If I let him stunn me, he could have gotten my gun and shot me...so I shot him to stop him from stunning me"
