Sig P220(.45), P228(9mm), Ruger P89(9mm), SW99(.40)
7 yards
Usually average around a 4" ragged hole when Im done with the occasional flyer bringing it out to maybe 8". Depends on how Im shooting too... I dont do so horribly well with slow fire. It tends to be more like BANG..............BANG............BANG...BANG..BAN G..BANG..etc. What can I say? I get impatient and I know I can hit the bullseye, so I usually hang up a shilloutte instead and fire away at a hurried pace, trying to keep all shots in the "10 ring" center mass. This to me is more important than hitting the dead center every time.

XD9-Tac
45 feet
6-8" groups

I like to shoot farther away because its more of a challenge. Also, even though most altercations happen within a small distance like 7 yards, I think 15 yards is a practical distance to be proficient at.

15yrds
xd .45 4"
6-8" grouping

My group size stays about the same from 7-15yrds. At 25yrds it's 12-14" and at less than 7yrds it's a crap shoot.

I've found that my worst accuracy is at near point blank. For some reason I can shoot an 8" group at 3 feet

Usually 7 - 10 yards. This was with my XD40 which I stupidly sold.
2 hand slow fire at 7 yds. 20 rounds. I'm bragging on the gun, not me.

Anywhere from 7 feet to 60 yards. It seems I get better the farther out I go. lol

Well... This is kind of a tough question...

You are looking to make slow accurate shots with a pistol.

No matter what I would vary the distance from 7 yards to 25 yards. You can throw in some 25-50 yard stuff if you want but I wouldn't unless you are getting into bullseye competition.

Most handguns are not designed to deliver accurate shots past 25 yards. In fact some companies don't even test past 15 yards.

What I shoot most often in my G19 with a .22 conversion kit, closest target frame location on our range is 25 yards. I usually don't bother with paper targets and just drag the rimfire plate rack out to 25 yards. I think the plates are 4" in diameter and I flip them over pretty regularly.

15 yrds (cause that's the closest at the range)
40 sc
slow fire I can keep 'em in the black (mostly in rapid fire too)
I'm not as worried about "group size" as long as their within the center mass area.

I target shoot at 25 yards 99% of the time. I don't do nearly as well as if I were to put it at 10-15 yards but it makes me think about each shot more cafefully so I conserve ammo and shoot for a longer amount of time. Plus I figure if I can do ok at 25 yards I can do great closer. If I fire one round a second with my P229 in 357 Sig I don't have a problem hitting a silhouette target with every shot at 25 yards.
