I wear a 1911 in a Don Hume open top leather IWB holster. Usually with cargo shorts and a T shirt (untucked). Oh yeah, and flip flops!

Laid back office

I have not open carried yet. We'll see if I do. I think it kind of designates you as a target to any threats.

So far I have yet to open carry. I did just pick up a nice paddle holster for the Sig, so I will be trying the open thing soon. The neighbors are going to love it. lol

Yeah because criminals always pick out the one most likely to be able to defend themselfs? That has never made any sense to me. I am a 6' 260# man with an intimidating disposition, I am already a threat ... the sidearm just makes it clear. I do not live in a war zone, A video game, or a Movie. I do not go around living my life in fear of being ambushed, If somebody is going to choose me as a target I want them to consider the fact they will have to fight for it.

To victimize and rob, rape, etc..., No; however, if they perceive you as a threat (meaning you will prevent them from getting what they want) then possibly. My father was a LEO for several years and growing up he never went out of the house unarmed if he had anything on that said Sheriff on it. Even a T-shirt, because that basically puts a big target on your back. That's just what I was taught.

If a criminal is going to rob someone, i agree with you and he will probably not go for the person with a gun. But if he want's to rob the local 7-11 and you just happen to be in the store and he see's you're pistol, well then he could perceive you as a threat and usually the good guys always react to the bad guys rather than pro-act.

I do not live in a war zone, video game or movie either, nor do I go around living my life in fear of being ambushed, but I'm not going to do anything to stand out in a crowd either. If some bad guy decides to threaten me with my life or serious injury, then he gets to face the consequences.

I always conceal. I live in a proud open carry state too. I just always prefer the element of surprise. Although I work at a bank and am restricted from carrying altogether. Evenings and weekends are always armed. Otherwise car is across the street in the parking garage.
