Even a T-shirt, because that basically puts a big target on your back. That's just what I was taught.

If a criminal is going to rob someone, i agree with you and he will probably not go for the person with a gun. But if he want's to rob the local 7-11 and you just happen to be in the store and he see's you're pistol, well then he could perceive you as a threat and usually the good guys always react to the bad guys rather than pro-act.

I do not live in a war zone, video game or movie either, nor do I go around living my life in fear of being ambushed, but I'm not going to do anything to stand out in a crowd either. If some bad guy decides to threaten me with my life or serious injury, then he gets to face the consequences.
?? If a bad guy sees my pistol in a 7-11 I want to make goddamn sure he knows he better find a willing victim or put me down. Because that side arm on me says to him I will get him. Truth is if the person is so brazen to ambush an armed Non-officer in order to safely continue a robbery, there is good odds you were going to get shot any way. Guess you better hope your situational awareness gives you the drop. I can assure you if I have a holster on, nobody is within 10' of me without me knowing. Either way you statement doesn't take in to consideration what if the BG sees the gun and decides it might not be worth his life to rob this 7-11?

I will not live at the mercy of those who would wish to harm me or my society!

Wearing LEO Anything is different than wearing a side arm. There are people out there that passionately Hate cops. I can certainly understand your father position.

There's always two sides to every argument. I can see your point, but I just don't feel that open carry is the right thing for me right now. Besides the fact of not wanting to be harassed by the police. And yes you're right, the simple sight of a weapon may deter a bad guy as well. Maybe farther down the road I will consider it more, but for now... to each his own.

I didnt mean to say that OC is the only right way to do things. I conceal %90 of the time, mostly for dress reasons.Just some of the reasoning I hear on why people don't want to OC or think it should not be aloud just leaves me wondering. Though I live in AZ and I appear to be Caucasian I have never been harassed for OCing. I Just think it sucks for those of you that have to put up with that BS.

Nothing aimed at you at all.

When I was living in NC I OCed and CCed on a regular basis about 50/50 split leaning more towards OC during the summer months.

I'm back in Texas now so I CC all the time but if they make OC legal this next legislative session I'll be doing it again.

Concealed carry. I dislike OC unless I'm on the trail or in similar circumstances.

I carry open on the gamelands I hike at during warmer weather, otherwise it's concealed as I'd rather not attract any attention.

You would be surprised at how little attention it does attract. I OCed in eastern NC for a few years and never had one LEO encounter and only had one negative encounter with an assistant manager at the new Wal-Mart in J-ville....................which got shot up by one of their own employees about a week later

I'm not worried about LEO attention, heck I actually like running into them while I'm hiking on the gamelands as each time I have we just shoot the crud about guns for a half hour or so. My problem would be that I apparently look like I am a LEO, as three of them I've run into while OC'ing have asked me what force I'm on(and I'm not a LEO). I mainly don't want people to think I'm a LEO, as number one that can get you into trouble quick, and number two I don't want to be asked all kinds of questions or be harassed like many disrespectful people do to LEO's nowadays. I'm not scared to OC, it's just that it would be a bother to me so I'd rather not. Does that make any sense?
