The wording on this poll is a little misleading. It could be that the people that voted against open carry may have made a mistake by not understanding the wording.

I would have recommmended:

I am in favor of laws protecting/allowing open carry.

Yes

No

It is misleading...if I vote "YES", to me it sounds like I'm saying that I OPPOSE open carry laws, meaning I would like for their to be no laws regarding it (so it would be legal).

I'm not sure if that's how the OP is interpreting it, however.

Like most I don't oppose OC, but I'd rather conceal, but can"t do either in WI.

I support it, but I would probably never open carry, no matter how accepted it was. I really love the anonymity of concealed carry. If you unknowingly walk in on an armed robbery while OC'ing, you can pretty much kiss your hide goodbye. I like the element of surprise.

I fully support it. Did it for a few years out in NC before EASing and moving back to Texas. I hear we are about to start pushing for it next legislative session.

I wouldn't do it most likely, but to each his own

I figure I'd be committed if I walked into a crime w/ OC, concealed I have the choice to decide if/when to engage...

Most likely not. I can only think of one situation where I would oppose such legislation. If the legislation had gun control measures in it, i.e. open carry legal with permit, but concealed carry degraded to may issue (or worse) or open carry legal but a limit on magazine capacity to 10 rounds or less, etc.

However, if it were legislation that only made open carry legal (if it wasn't before) or with less restrictions I would not oppose it.
