The answer is yes. Not just because of gas prices though. Also ammo prices and really the price of everything has gone up. That all factors in to my shooting.

I'm going to the range a LOT more. Because our new indoor range just opened!
Called Shooters of America. Great place.
10 lanes and can handle rifles up to 3400 fps!!!. Just awesome.

And it Opened July 4th. Couldn't be better.

My other hobby is offroading in my 1 ton'd Blazer. My Diesel gets 11mpg when pulling my Blazer on its trailer. The nearest wheeling spot is three hours away, at highway speeds. Factor in camping, food, beverages and whatnot.........Yes I go to the range that is 5 miles from my house more than I used to. Usually on my motorcycle.

I'm going less but spending more time. Total time per month is about the same.

If there were a range right next to me, I'd go A LOT more often. Also, if there were a outdoor range that allowed whatever I'd drive a bit longer to go there. Indoor ranges are HOT and uncomfortable, and you usually have a full range, so it's distracting. Plus you're paying by the hour.

I'd like to find an outdoor spot where I can pick off bowling pins and beer cans all day, on the cheap.

We joined the Ikes so we could use a range closer to home with no hourly fees. It ended up saving us a LOT of cash.

The sand pit I go shoot in with my dad is only about 15 minutes from my house, I'd say less than 12-14 miles away, so it's not the price of gas that's keeping me from going... It's the price of ammo.
