+1

Like I told my wife when I became interested in guns. I would rather be alive and able to see my kids then for them to have to visit my grave site.

No carry at work for me... state law. I do park off the property and carry in my car. That's legal... I work for a school district.

You have to ask yourself what is more important:

1. Protect yourself and carry and risk losing your job because you violated policy...

or

2. don't protect yourself and don't carry and risk losing your life because you followed policy....

Personally, my company prohibits firearms at work. But I work in a pretty "nice" area, so I don't carry at work. I'd have to OC since I don't have my CCDW License. So that would be difficult to hide from the boss. LOL.

I don't and probably shouldn't as I might use my pistol with a few of the guys I work with(just kidding). I just don't want to jeapardize my job by carrying as in my field word gets around. If I were to get fired for carrying on the job all other companies around that I would have the possibility of getting hired onto would know.

While she would probably win, what good are you dead.

I carry, and never could find a policy or get a straight answer from the boss. I would rather be looking for a new job than leave my wife.

Well...

you did say "policy" and not "against the law"

In Texas a companies no gun policy:
A.) effects only employees
B.) is not law
C.) but if there is the properly posted signage at the entrance then that would be against the law.

so...

against the law = I don't carry
against policy = carry

In Texas if there is an improperly posted 30.06 sign then I carry.

The law CLEARLY states how the sign must appear and where it must be located at.
