HOW do you get your slide back to rack/lock?

OK, this is a question that stems from another gun forum, and I thought I'd get a good set of answers from the members here....

[This isn't an answer of "you use the slide stop lever to lock the slide open" or "you move the slide back far enough to chamber the round" since we all know that.]

This question is about the METHOD, of how exactly you get your slide back in the first place.

Do you grab the slide w/ your weak hand, grasp it tightly enough, and pull it back?

or

Do you "brace" the slide w/ your weak hand/fingers and push the slide back?

or

Do you use some other method?

I know many people have trouble grabbing the slide and pulling it back, maybe due to lack of hand strength, or a bad grip, or whatever. Other people find that putting your hand/fingers in front of the muzzle is a little scary (despite not having your finger on the trigger)....

Please vote for the method you use. And also feel free to elaborate or explain in a post.

Thanks for playing!

(Oh, and I use the "brace it and push" method)

I place my support hand over the slide and behind the ejection port, pull back with my suppoprt hand, while pushing forward on the grip with my strong hand. That's the way I was taught to do it in my John Farnam course.

switch to right hand (damn right-handed slide stop)

grab slide with left hand, similar to that described above...thumb pointing towards my chest, barrel pointed in a safe direction (i.e. down range)

pull slide back and push receiver forward

toggle slide lock with right thumb

that said, tap-and-rack occurs with the pistol in my left hand...same orientation of hands and barrel, put there's not time to switch hands for clearance drills...

+1
But I didn't take the course. My wife was struggling with the whole "automatic" experience and a range officer pointed out that this method was far easier for women starting out, (push w/strong hand vs. pull w/ weak hand).
It made sense....and after trying it myself...I adopted it....and have passed it on to other women shooters/friends struggling with the same issue.

Same here and that's the way my wife finds easier for her too.
