Do you tip at Sonic

For those that live in areas where there is a Sonic. Do you tip or not?

I always give a $1. They make waitress pay. A $1 means a lot more to them than it does to me.

$1

I heard they got a raise recently but what's a dollar for delivering my crazy order and getting me the 15 ketchup packets my wife asks for. I eat there often enough that they remember and hopefully wont spit in my food.

Yes...it is customary and they are usually very nice kids trying to make a few bucks at our Sonic.

Always tip. Reason: those waitresses
only make $2.14 per hour. They really
depend on the tips to make up for what
their cheap arse employers do not pay.

That is why the fast food industry is
rich, making it off of the slave labor and
low wages.

Smile and leave at least a buck,
it makes their day.

Despite the HUGE ad presence here in MI for Sonic restaurants, there are NONE in the state.

So even if I do find myself craving one of their offerings, I can't get any.

How's that for spending your money wisely

I usually give a dollar plus whatever change is leftover. I was just wondering because there was a blog on the Dallas Morning News site today. I did a little looking, some of the ads for jobs show a starting pay of $6.50 an hour, but since most are a franchise deal, some pay start at the $2.14/ hour.

Either way, I guess I will continue to tip. More if they are really cute.

I thought the kids bringing the food out made at least minimum wage...I find it weird that they send two people out with the food. I've only been to a Sonic a couple times, maybe 3 times, and every time, two people came out with the food, and it was only 2 of us eating. One carried the food, the other watched...am I supposed to tip the one who just walked around and watched?

For sure!!! The person that comes to watch is making sure you don't choke and die. You gotta tip them.

I don't think I have ever seen two people come out here. Sometimes there is another person that comes around with a tray of extra ketchup, napkins and stuf, but thats all. I don't tip them though.
