Thanks, but I personally just like the M4. Can you get the SLP with a pistol grip?
I am looking at the Limited Edition M1014 (flag marked). It has a skeletonized stock, but non collapsible (I'm ok with that). What I would like is to add a magazine extension. I read though that you can't have a semi-auto shotgun with a pistol grip AND a capacity over a certain amount. Is this still true? Can you do this but get a $5 tax stamp? Thanks!

I just bought a SLP on Friday. Just shot it for the first time yesterday. I have an M1 Super 90 Tactical(Hk Import). My friend has an M4 that i shoot more than my own shotguns. LOL. I have a lot of time in on Benellis. Benellis are tough to beat. A whole lot more support and parts for the Benelli than the SLP. Benellis are well proven in combat. However, after shooting this SLP, I have to say that I do not think it is going to be getting sold for a very long time. I buy lots of guns, try them all out, and sell the ones that just don't strike my fancy. This SLP will be around for a while. The action is incredibly fast. I like the 18 inch barrel, and combination of no pistol grip. Very easy to maneuver, and probably a better Home D gun due to it's compactness and light weight combined. I have got to say that I think that action is a little faster than the M4. This weekend, we are having a shotgun shootout at the range. Maybe I will try to get video of both of them side by side. My buddy Scott can unload them both so fast, they sound like full auto. Pretty cool, however, not practical.

Yes the SLP does have a pistol grip version and unlike the Benelli M4, the SLP also comes standard with a +2 magazine extension. Did I mention that the SLP is the fastest auto loading shotgun in the world?

OK, now you guys got me looking at the SLP. I'm such an impulse buyer, I guess.
So....which model did you get? I want an 18" barrel but am still undecided on the pistol grip tactical version vs. a standard stock.

Comparing the older 18" SLP to the newer, they are the exact same shotgun other then the obvious external changes. The older SLP will cost much less then the newer SLP 18". As for the stock, its really personal preference. The only advantage I see that a pistol grip stock gives you over the traditional stock is more leverage. Its nice to have a bit more leverage on a HD shotgun, for example if the bad guy tries to grab the shotgun away from you, you would have more leverage compared to a traditional stock. As for the new side picatinny rail, sure its a nice option, but in my opinion not nice enough to pay that hefty price tag that comes with it. You can easily configure your own picatinny rail with a little creativity. I would buy the older SLP, but that's just me.

As far as where to buy the SLP, I would try Tanner Sports Center, he has the best prices (or did) I dont know if he will be stocking the 18" SLP anymore. I dont think you wll find the 18" SLP for cheaper then this. AR15.COM :: Forums :: FN SLP 12 gauge - 18 inch I'f I were in your shoes, I would snag this sucker up so quick it would make your head spin. I dont think you will see this price tag anymore after this is sold. Offer him $600 shipped hehe...
