Has the "Obama Rush" began?
I've frequent the gun stores around my job, etc on a weekly basis and have seen they are more packed then ever. Some website i frequent are backordered on guns and ammo...
I am beginning to think that the "rush" before November has begun. there is fear in the air... Texas is backlogged for carry permits and prices are already beginning to go up... Obama seems to be the topic in every gun store and on the minds of every gun owner i speak to....even non gun owners who are pro 2A...

If gun owners really care about their right to own and carry, they will have to take a real close look at Obama. If they want restrictions or prohibitions then he may be your man. I don't think that either candidate can do much about the economy except talk about it.

In typical Dem fashion he will feel our pain and do nothing about it but make matters worse. They are talking about punnishing the oil companies but we will be the ones punnished when the oil companies decide that they will no longer do business with us.

The gun store I bought my XD at said they have been selling more guns than that can remember and they solely contributed it to November. Personally I am taking the CHL class along with 5 other family members June 21st, just to be on the safe side.

Yes because we should be!
A little different twist with my answer then you might have expected but anybody who cares about 1A, 2A and all the rest of the A's should be afraid of this guy. He is the most extreme Liberal Senator in the Senate. His state is one of only 2 states that will not issue CC permits at this time. This laid back guy from SC ripped a "flame throwing dragon sized butt hole" to a guy on another forum specifically for CC when he states he is supporting Obama. The response to my comments were well received by other members. Can you imagine what the crime rate will be if they take away our rights to defend ourselves or our families? Sadly he is leading in the polls as the Republican brand name is taking a beating. Last edited by XDragon; 06-13-2008 at 08:11 AM. |

Yes, my gun store has been packed. Many newbies buying guns and getting CCW training.
They attribute it to the bad economy\high crime rates, and the prospect of a liberal President in November. I personally have quit worrying about the President situation. I have stewed long enough. If the new President and Congress infringe on our rights, we should ignore the laws, up to and including civil unrest. Period. The Constitution lays out my rights in plain English. My State Constitution lays it out in even clearer and bolder terms. Take a look at the CCW laws in the United States over the past 15 years. We have more than doubled the number of states who have passed CCW laws. I believe 48 states now have CCW. We have more than doubled the number of states that have passed castle doctrine laws. The Brady Campaign themselves, just yesterday, ADMITTED that 75% of poll respondents in multiple polls, nationwide, have indicated the the 2A refers to the RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE. Paul Helmke himself has admitted that Washington D.C. is likely to lose the Heller case. As much as we all bitch and whine about losing our guns rights, the United States is as gun friendly as it has been in 30 years. We still must remain vigilant. As far as I am concerned, all of these are indicators that the people have spoken, and the liberals should butt out. If guns are so bad, why does Feinstein and Schumer have CCW licenses in their respective states? Why does Rosie O'Fadass have armed security? Why did Sarah Brady ADMITTEDLY buy her son a hunting rifle for Christmas? (Which, by the way, qualifies as a straw purchase). Screw 'em.

I haven't been in a gunshop in a while, so I haven't noticed.
However, I don't see a lot of the attitude to be that people are actually thinking that Obama could win. It's different when gun-banning candidate with a good chance to win is running for President.

I just remembered I got this article in an email from my sister.
Applications spike for Texas concealed handgun permits | News for Austin, Texas | KVUE.com | Top Stories " AUSTIN – Texans are applying for concealed handgun licenses at a rate nearly 40 percent higher than a year ago, causing a backlog in new applications and permit renewals, according to a newspaper report. Ross Bransford, who trains 1,000 Texans a year to qualify for a concealed handgun licenses, said he believes election-year politics are a factor in the spike of applications. He said Democratic Sen. Barack Obama, who is leading the race for his party's nomination is a friend of Democratic Sen. Ted Kennedy, "and that scares everybody to death."" |
