i have 2 XD's. one in 9 and the other in 45. im an idiot and just sold my 1911 to my budy. so with that cash im on my way to sportsmans warehouse in about an hour to get either the xd 40 tactical or the glock 22. im in the military and have used the glock extensivly with the use of simunitions and the glock just works in high stress combat situations. the fact that in a similiar size pistol the glock holds 3 more rounds than the xd is also a big selling point for the glock. i honestly love both pistols so i guess whatever i decide when i get there is what ill get. i know its kind of a dum way to go but otherwise ill be stuck on it forever and they are both great firearms so i cant go wrong either way.

Starting to sound like some of the people at Glocktalk. You are entitle to your opinion, but you are fighting an uphill battle my friend, you cant convince people in here, especially people who know about guns, and own more than one gun that the Glock platform is a bad design. Its because of the Glock that Springfield has the XD, S&W has the M&P and sigma, and so do other companies with their polymer pistol. Am not saying Glock was the first polymer gun, but it was the on with a revolutionary design.

The XD is a great gun. I got a chance to shoot one. I look at it as an alternative to the Glock. Some people like safeties, some people like diferent grip angles. Myself, I dont like to many safeties and am comfortable with the Glock angle, am more accurate with it.

The Glock has a 20+ years record of reliability. Theres no doubt in my head that the XD will get there, we will just wait and see.

KCS I understand your passion and loyalty for XD. I was the same way when I got my fisrt Glock. I guess I drank plenty of the Kool aid myself.

Yes, Big Brother Glock has the long history, and any gun has to have a long track record before they get that title....XD will get there some day.

I'd have to register over there to vote and after reading all of the negative comments here about that place over the years, I have no interest in doing so.

To show you how smart some of these Glock or nothing lovers are, here is a gem of a comment by Firemedic.

And the Xd's still have rust issues.
I guess no one told him the two names for the same process are used on both the XD and the Glock. Also, not all of the older Xds had rust issues as the long running thread here depicts. Mine is over 5yrs. old and I've had no rust.

Like one poster basically said, this is a Glock site, what do you expect the answer to be.
