These earplugs on a headband work good for me in calibers from a .32 on up to a .357 and a .308 Win. as well as having other people blasting away beside me.

I just got some Howard Leight Impact Sport electronic muffs and they are great. Sound quality is good, sound deadening is good, they are really comfortable and the fold up nice and compact.

I use plugs the entire time I'm at the range. It makes it easier to hear someone if they want to converse. I then put on a set of muffs if I'm shooting a loud round(ie my 357 Sig or one of my rifles).

Plugs for rifles, muffs for pistols. Getting behind the aperture on my 03A3 with muffs on is a PITA
