Peltor Tactical 6S muffs. They rock and the money I spent on them was WELL worth it.

Depends. If I am shooting in the yard by myself I use yellow foam E-A-R Classic plugs. I got used to using them at work because muffs would get bumped and hung up on things. If I am shooting with someone that I will be talking to I use my muffs for easier on and off. Liked the plugs so much that I bought a big box for home for mowing and such...much denser and quieter than the orange foam ones from Walmart. All I hear when shooting my 9 is a little pop.

I chose both. I have the Howard Leight Slim Electronic muffs and I usually wear a good set of disposables inside them.

Depends on the situation. When I'm indoors I'll usually double up and use both. Outdoors is mostly one or the other but rarely both, as the noise tends to dissipate better.

I can't believe I didn't see more of you guys using ZEM's. They are absolutely great. Inexpensive, allow you to hear talking, do a great job of protecting, compact and lightweight. Just can't be beat. PISTOLGEAR | YOUR ONE-STOP SHOP FOR ALL SPRINGFIELD XD

as a professional singer I value my hearing almost as much as I value my life. I wear both.

Now one of these days I'm going to have to do some defensive practice w/o hearing protection, just so I can see how I react with a real-life "boom"

I have to use both. I'm damn near deaf in my right ear and it rings all the time any way. I have some tone deafness in my left ear and depending on the tone of the persons voice, they have to be facing me so I can understand them or read their lips as they talk.Usually it sounds like people are mumbling when they talk to me. Too many years of loud music, bikes, cars and shooting guns without ear protection....and my twins, forget it, i have to tell them to slow down and speak up-I have to remind them that I can't hear as fast as they can talk sometimes
