Shotgun side mount question...
I've been pondering an idea for a side mount system lately and was wondering what everybody's opinion would be, so let's hear it

I went with 2nd. Not for a laser...but for a light! comes in handy for me. But then again i'm probably clinically night blind

I was thinking more for a light also. You can point and shoot all you want. But when it's dark, you atleast need to know what you're pointing at lol

Like I said, you still atleast need to be able to see what you're pointing at lol

I voted for nothing. The light is a good idea for HD but mounted on the receiver isn't that helpful. There would be a huge shadow to one side. It would need to be mounted near the muzzle to give enough directional light.

Most lights other than a dedicated shurefire wont take the recoil of a 12 gauge for long without coming apart so a quick change clamp for between the barrel and extended tube would probably be your best bet. I have seen some pretty well known lights Cough streamlight come apart in a couple of rounds of buck or slugs.

Well then it would seem a laser would be more practical although you don't really need one on a shotgun lol
