I'm too poor for fancy red dots. So poor that I justify my optics envy with the statement: "Real men use iron sights."

No problem at all. I ordered the Eotech by CC on Friday and it arrived the following Thursday. It was shipped UPS ground. I would not hesitate to order from them again.

I prefer the reticle of the Eotech but I think the Aimpoint is all around better.

Eotechs drain fast, and even the the 512 which claims 1100 hours probably only gets about 400 hours with top of the line lithiums. The Aimpoints can easily go 10,000 hours before new batteries are needed. If you have the M3 or ML3, it's 50,000 hours! That means you can leave it on for 5 years. It is nice having an optic that is always on and will never run out of batteries.

I also hear a lot of reports of Eotechs crapping out. I rarely hear anything about Aimpoints crapping out.

The big negative about the Aimpoint is the red dot of the Aimpoint seems archaic, but I would rather have something that reliably works every time as oppose to something with the better reticle that might not work.

My Eotech has held up over 2 years on various guns such as AR15's, AR10's, and FALs. Probably seen about a good 100 hours of heavy use and so far it has held up.

I set mine up so that off the bench, the red dot is co-witnessed with the iron sights....... HOWEVER, that does NOT mean that the dot MUST be aligned with the irons to work. In the pic below, by lifting my head just a bit, I can cause the dot to float above the irons. In this case, the dot location will be the point of impact at 150-200 yards, and the irons will not play a part.
