Glock trade!!!

So now that ive FINALLY bought my 642, i really dont carry my glock 26 anymore. I probably will in the colder months, but for now the 642 is so much easier!

Question is, local gun shop said they would take back my 26 with nightsights and give me a new 36 for $80. Should i do it?

and no, im not getting another XD. I like them as big guns ( i have a 4 and a 5 inch) i dont like the SC's.

in the computer programming industry we have an acronym for such a trade... GIGO.

Garbage in... Garbage out.

(all above Glock bashing is meant in the best of fun. Those with easily bent egos or the inability to find humor in the world around them, those with heart, or mental conditions; and people from Illinois, especially those in the United States Senate should not read the above post)

I carried a G36 for about 5 years. Just recently sold it.

Personally I don't see any advantage to your trade. 10 rounds of 9MM is fine.

Why do you want to shoot +P 9mm rounds?

Oh wait, I think the answer is found in the question, "9mm".

I used to carry a Glock 26, and before that a Sig 226 also in 9 mm, then I observed what 9 mms often do on the street and what .45s do on the street. I made the change since it's my life and the life of another that may depend on the round I am firing. Go to a gun shop and pick up a 115 gr 9mm and a 230 gr .45 ACP and compare.

I was told +P rounds had ore stopping power than traditional loads.

i agree with your statement, thats why the XD.45 is next to my bed. I have yet to find a smaller .45 that i like though. I mean, the 36 is great gun, but its almost as big as the 19. Any suggestions?

+P has higher loads so greater velocity when leaving, velocity is needed for proper expansion of JHP rounds

I would not use +P in a .45 glock, the chance is rare for a kaboom but Im not a gambling person. Throwing +P into the equation doesnt sound like a good idea, those have been KBing even on standard loads

+P is fine in a Glock.

You'll be alright in either weapon.

I carry 124grn +p ammo and it performs well. I wouldn't shoot +p all the time such as for practice as yes you will shorten life over time with the higher pressures but it wouldn't be enough for the average owner to notice if you are just putting a mag of +P down range every now and then.

VAFISH
Have you ever shot or handled a 26/27? If so, are the 26/7's wider than the 36? And if you concealed the 36, was it easier to conceal than say, a XD45 Service?
Thanks!
