Not VAFISH but I do have a 26 and the 36 and a XD45C.

Yes the 26/27 is wider than the 36 in the grip, the 26/27 is a double stack and the 36 is a single stack. The size of the 36 compares to the size of the 19 with a skinnier grip. And yes, the 36 being slimmer is easier to conceal than a XD45.
