I just found this guy. The UM V2C 650S...it has a very comforable (for me ) 27.5 inch seat height and I mean c'mon guys....that looks pretty sweet. And the sticker price doesn't look too bad either at only 6 g's!

BMW f800 in GS skin. I'm liking it. Not due out until the fall.

They have a 650 and 1200 as well, but the 800 looks like the sweet spot for mostly road riding to me.

I voted for the DR. I have a XR400 set up street legal w/ supermoto tires. I love the bike... I would not want to ride it for more than an hour without a different seat and probbly a windscreen of some type. My previouse bike was an XR650 and though it was faster I didn't really like how heavy it was and a little unwieldy on trails. If money was not any issue I would go for a BMW GS.. probbly the 800.
My girlfriends dad has the KLR although I would not want to ride it on a tight trail it would be much nicer on the highway.
I guess it depends on what your planning on doing with it.
Trail and around town= DR
Very little trail and highway= KLR or BMW

It also seems more than capable of doing the running I need to do but it is also not too much bike for a beginner like me. What do you guys think?

I'd never heard of UM before.

Just looked at their web site. Looks like they are a Latin American company selling Chinese bikes in the US. They have a pretty decent warranty and have been around for 10 years now.

I'm actually considering buying one of their 200 CC dual sports now, only a couple of grand for a new one.

But you have to look at them as a disposable bike. I doubt they will have much resale value.
