yes and no.
No there is not a gun in every room. Yes there is a gun on ME when I am in every room. Wouldn't it suck to be that guy who just couldn't get to his gun in time?

A gun in every room VIOLATES the Cardinal Rule of gun ownership: ALWAYS keep POSITIVE CONTROL of your firearm(S)
.Guns spread around in every room is NOT positive control!

No, I don't carry a gun around all the time when home. I do when I am outside and certainly on or off duty when out and about and anytime there is a knock on the door. I wonder about the folks who keep loaded weapons scattered about their home or at least loaded magazines? What exactly is it you fear? Have you considered talking with a therapist? Maybe the time has come to move out of Beirut? The only time I see weapons in every room is when it's a drug bust and the paranoia associated with Meth and other drugs. Chapie+ |

You would be better off to have a pistol on your hip then retreat to your "safe room" and fight it out from there. Safe room should have a landline and a cellphone. Or at least a cell phone since landlines can be cut.
But its your house so defend it how you want. I try to keep a pistol either on my hip or somewhere in the room I am in. When I get home I try to remember to open the safe so that I can retreat to that room with wife and kids. Even when out side if not carrying I will place one so that all I have to do is walk inside the house and there it is.
