If I didn't have two small kids I would have a gun in each room. I usually just keep one under my bed and on top of my fridge just incase...

i voted hell yeah since it does happen upon occasion. Although there isn't one in every room daily, when me or the missus is home alone for like a weekend or something, rock and roll

I keep one on my hip and a shotgun in the bedroom...the rest stay in the gun room (locked door) inside a closet (locked and fortified a tad).

If i need more than my 1911 and my 870 then chances are il have a few seconds to get to that room and grab them.

I do however keep a 1911 mag in the kitchen, office, living room, and a spare in the bedroom (all in a drawer or on top of the fridge or something). That way if someone does break in they can't kill me with my own gun but i can move throughout the house and reload if need be.

I thought about it. Decided that I did not want to risk arming an intruder who happens to find one or more of the hidden guns. I'm with chupacabrachus. I keep mine on my hip. I store the balance of my guns in the keep.

The mag idea isn't bad at all. I usually don't strap on my spare mag when I get up in the middle of the night LOL. At least then all the criminal will have is something to chuck at you
