Well, the only grip I've held (other than a standard grip) is the Ergo on my AR, and I love it. So that's where my vote went!

I looked at and held the MIAD, Ergo and Hogue. I liked the Hogue the best so thats what I voted for.

I had a G26 and hated it...replaced it with the Hogue and never looked back! The Hogue is grippy yet cushiony enough for all day carry/shooting.

Their is a lot of personal preference that goes into a grip. Some folks like the storage and reconfigurability of the MIAD, others like the soft padded/textured feel of the Ergo, or Hogue some like the stock grip, some like the stock grip wrapped in hockey stick tape, etc, etc. What works for me and I like, you may completely hate.
Part of the bitter sweet deal of AR's is that you are pretty much limited to imagination and the size of you wallet. Personally, I own and like the MIAD. Inside the grip I can hold a few rounds for the zombie invasion; but I generally (OK, always) keep a spare bolt and firing pin in it with a packet of silica gel. That (to me) seems more useful than a few extra rounds.

I chose the Hogue. It felt better to my particular grip. It does have a "magwell" type hole, in other words its hollow. I dont know if there is a plug for it for storage. I was wondering the same and if so, I will get one.

I also bought a Hand gard attachment that has three weever mounts on it and a ten round mag woot for the AR-15.
