Motorcycle gets 45MPG, car gets 32MPG, and I take the bus (free ECO pass) 2-3 times per week. As summer continues I'll drive the car less.

I don't get it.. how do you walk away? Even if I never Drive another mile.. I will still pay for it! Everything that is shipped has been effected. Everything in this world anymore is made from plastics.

I rode to work this morning! I am certainly not in the best shape of my life, but it only took me about 45 minutes to cover the 12 miles to work. My office has a shower and dressing room, which is great! I have felt really good and awake all day. My gas savings go into my "hobby" account and will help me get my 1911 and reloading setup faster!

I'm not sure I have any options save for public transportation, but until either the SEPTA monopoly lowers their prices or gas is more expensive than $5.38/gal it's not worthwhile me taking public transit.

ETA: i double checked the fares and it would have to get up around $6 a gallon before it was worth me paying $16 round trip to take trains and busses to work.

I know gas prices have affects on all aspects of your lives, I am refering to at waht point do people stop filling up their cars...

(also just FIY to people who have stopped using their cars all together....scrap prices are HIGH! I got 300 for my 91 olds)

Doesn't really matter to me at this point, it's a tax write off for me. It sucks to pay it, but in the end, I get the money back.

Sorry about that.. I did know what you meant.. But I guess the disparity of the situation makes me bitter about the subject. To be completely honest I will stop filling up my car when there is no money left to do so.. Until then it is necessary, and trust me when I say they know it!

I'm not driving my personal car much, except to the gun range or church. I've got a company car w/ gas card, so for work, I don't care about price. They can send me to Laughlin (100 miles) every night for all I care. It's their dime.

For gun range trips, my best choices are 2 blocks to the indoor range, or 25 miles to the outdoor range I'm a member of. I can see paying $7-8/gal to drive out to shoot, or walk 2 blocks in open carry territory to the indoor range.

35 miles to work each way and no public trans to speak of, I'm pretty much screwed. Already bought a little 30 MPG bomb for the commute while my truck sits, but it's still about $40 a week just back and forth to work. It used to be worth it but since I work in a body shop on commission and nobody wants to drive, don't know how long it will last. Already seen a major drop in business all over.

Theoretically, I could ride a bike to work, only about 11 miles round trip. But the reality is, I'm just too damned lazy! It would be much cheaper & healthier for me, but I have a hard enough time leaving the house in time to get there 2 min early.
