What Ride a Bicycle or a horse, 40 miles a day ??

Let's see, 15 mph on a good day when both surgically repaired knees work well enough to get there and back, divided by 40 miles round trip =
2.67 hours and that would be P/U Daughter @ school ....

No wont happen.

I'm screwed. About 15 miles to work and about 10 miles to the girlfriend. I will have to pay whatever they ask. There is nothing I can do.

houston is too spread out to take a bike or walk to work. Taking a bus isnt as time efficient as a car. Good thing I only live 15 minutes from work.

i am wishing i had a car . my truck is killing me at the pump. i only drive 28 miles round trip to work and a little around town, but sheesh. and we are getting ready to move to another town. plus side is my wife won't be commuting 90 round trip AND should the interview go well tomorrow will get a 10K dollar raise. that will help but not make it better. the negative to that is my trip to school everyday will be 60 miles round trip , but her commute will be less than five miles. if it gets much more expensive, i may get that motorcycle i have been bugging her for........

I'm planning on moving much closer than the current 36 miles to work. Almost 75 mils round trip 5 days a week...... car pooling as much as possible.
Depending on how close I get I may go back to the ol' bicycle days or bus it. For now I am at the mercy of the pump!!!!!!!!!!

Fortunately I only do about 25 miles per day on my car, my wife drives significantly less in her car, so it is not killing us yet. I really need to start riding to work (12 miles each way), but I am a lazy a$$ these days. I used to do 30+ miles 6 days a week with 60+ on saturdays, but that was when I was in college and in shape...

I used to bike a lot too..... had some nice bikes over the years.... now i have a motorcycle and don't need to pedal.... still uses gas but at 50+ miles a gallon it's still pretty cheap.

Work recently raised mileage reimbursement to 50.5 cents a mile. Makes it about tolerable.
