Yes I found rust, yes it was my fault I got my Tactial back from Canyon Creek, tossed the sirvice model in my tool box and left it there for a week to two. A little oil on a rag now every thing is fine.

I have an XD-9 Sub and shoot it often. I clean it after every range session with Simple Green. After cleaning and rinsing, I dry the slide, barrel, springs, etc. and then wipe them down with Remmington gun oil. I carry my gun almost always and when I am not carrying, it is in my glove box in my car. All of this to say that I have never had any rust. I live in Atlanta, so it is extremely hot and humid down here as well.

Isn't the mag release button metal? That's the only place I've seen a brownish spot that I presumed to be rust. I wear my SC in an IWB holster and it makes contact there with my skin. Other than that, no problems.

Not sure if this answer has been given because I'm too impatient to read every post, but I've had no rust. After cleaning, I wipe the metal parts on the outside over with a silicone cloth, and keep it in a case under my bed. (I have no kids). No rust, and no malfunctions ever. Hope this helps someone.

No... no rust on the slide.

BUT.... My slide release just showed a little rust this morning. Took a terry cloth towel and rubbed it right off.

Day 2 of USPSA Area 5, Hurricane Rita's rain starting rolling in. With no choice than to shoot or take zeros on the stages, we all got wet.

Before I even got the gun out of my holster (was in the elements for about 4 hours), it had rust on it. When I got home that night (3hr drive), it had the most beautiful **** brown color all over the slide.

Ajames or Rich...you'll hear from me soon!

Yup, my wifes XD ended up with a small bit of rust on it after area 5. We drove the 3 hours home and then I pulled the guns out and wiped them down with silicone impregnated clothes. Note: Stainless Sigs dont rust but their hammers do....maybe I should call the factory . Oh well, Like my wife said when she saw the light rust...its a gun, a tool, wipe it off and dont worry about it. Im going to look into that moly coating but i guess I need to buy a sandblaster first...

I just shipped mine off to Ajames this morning to get DuraCoated, it may not help a lot under lots of draws but ANYTHING beats the factory finish.
