Sadly, I must add my XD40 to the list of rusties. For a long time I've been fine, but had it on my hip for a while this past Saturday, and the sweat did it. I now have rust on the back left corner of the slide, and the left side mag release button.

Using steel wool on the finish of any gun is not a good idea. Peace, D.

Unfortunately, there is rust on my new xd9 tac.
I have only taken it out to the range twice, and I wiped it down. I really like the gun....it is my first xd, but I was stunned when I opened the case and saw all of the little rust spots on the slide. I know I could have wiped it down better, but really, I have never had a gun rust up like that. Nearly drove me back to glock Now I am looking for a new finsh for it....any suggestions? Note: I know of others shooters who have xds and never seemd to have a rust problem. I guess I'm lucky! Closing: I still really love the gun though, I was salivating over it for a while..... |
